boredom

It’s hard to imagine a more body- and mind-numbing job than commercial fishing in any era. Dirty, joyless, and dangerous work.

Linking to Sensational Haiku Wednesday prompt 160 “boredom”

fishermen stumble
endlessly haul slimy nets -
listless fish ripple

    1. Now that you mention it, there might be intellectual interest in scales and fish heads running in the scuppers.

  5. That is the nature of work, but fishing is so much sitting and waiting...

Sorry about the captcha code. I didn't realize I had one! Thanks for letting me know. I'm technologically challenged, but I'm going to try to remove it. Thanks for overcoming the challenge!

  7. I loved watching deadliest catch - and loved going out in our boating fishing. But I guess it could be boring if you weren't cut out for the sea and fishing.

  8. Indeed , what you say is so true.
I always say a prayer whenever I cook fish dishes.
Although I am more a vegetarian now.
What a wonderful tribute, lovely Haiku , thank you.
