    1. I just call it that when the rustling leaves let in a dappling of sun beams!

  2. I don't see the onion, but I quickly forgot about looking for it when I felt the description of the flurry of sun on the cabin porch. There is life abundant on a porch, at least in my life's experiences. I liked visiting here. Thanks for sharing.

    Peace

    1. It's sitting in a wooden box just on the edge of the table, that's why it's hard to see. But you're right about life on a porch; glad you dropped by :)

    1. Yes, the onion is fresh from my garden. It's sitting in an old wooden box on the table, waiting to be prepared :)

    1. Thanks Mr. North, that's what I had in mind, the balance of the onion from the garden and the setting sun :)

  7. Delightful haiku! Have you spent time on the cabin porch? Summer days seem to call for it, don't they?

    1. Especially time spent on a summer cabin porch, where all you have to think about is the task at hand, preparing veggies for your meal :)

  8. For me the onion is the ultimate food and preparing them with other veggies on a porch must mean we are making stew for dinner?!

    1. I do love stew with onions, and what better place of an evening to prepare them? Catching the wind in the leaves, which lets in a flurry of sun, a muddy golden orb nearing the horizon :)

  12. I love this picture, it is beautiful in itself but also along with your haiku gives the visitor plenty of room for expanding thought. My dad was a keen gardener, he would bring his dirty produce home, not the clean perfect examples like shop bought, but oh the taste!

    Have a lovely weekend. x
