What is a Mikoshi??? Interesting picture!Quest of the unknown.
It's a divine Shinto palanquin, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoshi for a fuller explanation :)
You are supporting the palanquin on your shoulders, the deity himself.. Perhaps the heaviness is only the weight, not the lightness in your heart? :)
Not sure, but maybe it's the light, music and crowd noises that are heavy...

Wow! This is nice, as for the title says, its related to some festival, and the words really conveys the meaning very well!
