Endurance

Bronze lasts for eons
But temples age and crumble -
Long ago bell sounds

Conflict

Invasion's over.
Troops crowd roads and waterways.
Loosestrife's hard to hate.

It's funny how invasive plants are more acceptable if they are beautiful.

Still backwater hums.
Stale bread tumbles from my hand:
Plop ! Boiling with koi !

pas de deux

Sky dance whirls along;
Two orbs span the blue twilight.
Who's calling the tune?

I've been standing on my porch watching the beautiful conjunction of Venus and Jupiter nearly every evening after sunset. They are only a few fingertips apart in the sky now. They look just like the diagram in the newspaper.

Bleak soil like Grape Nuts;
Freeze dried nothingness awaits.
Lush green spears crowd through.

Mars glints blearily,
Each wintry ray's tightly bound.
Too many watchers.
